Support Malaysia, support palm oil. Wahahaha. Zhong came back from a factory processing palm oil in Johore yesterday and guess what he brought back for me? Yep palm oil seeds. Cute little seeds.

We had nothing to do...so I suggested we mess around with it. And we did. I took the kitchen chopper and the chopping board. I took a few pieces of paper to layer on the chopping board to absorb the oil from the seed when 'dissecting' the seed.

We first behead the seed whahahaha. It’s actually quite easy to cut the stem off. The front inside of the seed is actually quite soft. Less fiber.

Things started to get oily from here. We started cutting everything off the seed. The redish skin of the seed is smooth and thick. The internal of the seed is light orange in color. The texture is soft like mango…but very oily. We got the flesh of the seed, leaving the middle husk of the seed.

After that, we took the seed to the basin to wash the remaining flesh that was sticking to the husk. An old tooth brush and a green scrubbing cloth are used for this process. We started to scrub carefully when Zhong got a splinter stuck on his thumb. Ouch!

The outcome of the whole process? Well a clean and very cute little husk thingy. I’m going to take them out to dry under the sun, and then keep it in my bottles. Only the skinny husk can be fitted in the bottle. Not sure what to do with the bigger husk.

I kept this two seeds unharmed hehehe. Cute little seeds.
