New LRT fair prices
LRT fair prices went up! Well, maybe it didn't but their new package is going to put a hole in my purse.
There will be no more Putra LRT or Star LRT. Both LRT lines will be called RapidKL LRT line. The buses called RapidKL buses. It's actually a good thing for the standardization (like in Singapore where you only have to use one ticket for the MRT and buses). LRT and buses user will not have to carry different types of tickets for different mode of transportation. It would be easier for 'strangers to public transport' and first timers to get about using the LRT and bus too. And not forgetting the tourist, would definitely be easier and more convenient for them too.
They are 4 RapidKL packages.
1. RM80 - RapidKL Bus System
2. RM90 - RapidKL Integrated LRT System (The current Putra + Star LRT)
3. RM125 - RapidKL Integrated LRT and Bus System
4. RM40 - RapidKL Bus System for Students\Senior Citizen
I'm currently using only Putra LRT and I pay RM70 for my monthly pass. But I would have to spend RM90 for my pass starting next month. I'm forced to pay for the other LRT line that I won't be using. *sign* ...would be saving only about RM6 per month on transportation. ....*double sign* But I think Jin would be saving on transport since she will be using both Star and Putra soon.
Oh yeah... got my tickets to the PD Rave already! wOOt! Comes with a Johan Gielen CD as well. I still have two extra tickets going for RM25 with me. Anyone wants it?

so, which of the management that have to hand in the business? who takeover who? or did Rapid KL bought both parties? price increase again. but salary remains the same. we are getting poorer and poorer.....
My sister just complained about the same problem to me just now. She said she wouldn't want to buy the new monthly pass cause it would her cost more than her usual travelling fees. Therefore, she had decided to go for touch&go instead.
I think Rangkaian Segar is in charge of the system , since it was mentioned a while ago that we would be able to use Touch 'n' Go for all public transport.
sherrina, Emperor Kuzco : I think the plan to merge all the public transport payment thingy have been going on for 4 to 5 years already... i guess this is one of the steps that the government did see it happen.
emotionalistic : yeah lo. i'm counting my days in the months now. some months less working days.
What about Package No 2 for Students and Senior Citizens?
By this so-called integrated transportation system, we are forced to buy things we don't need.
fishtail : The student and senior citizen package is RM40, but I think you have to apply for it. Got to show your IC and all.
Papi : Yeah lo. But good in a way... bad for those (like me) who only take one LRT line.
