The Singapore Trip was a BLAST!!! Too bad it was just a 3 days 2 nights trip, would have been just nice if we stayed a day longer.

Day 1. Jin, Dave, Me and BC took the LRT down to Pudu Raya bus station at 7am. Before boarding our bus, we dropped by Petaling Street to have 'Sang Yeu Chook' (raw fish porridge). You'll be actually given thin filet of fish, just add and stir it into the hot porridge and the fish will cook.



With our stomach filled, we boarded our 8.45am bus and off we go!



We reached Lavender Street in Singapore about 2.30pm I think. We had our lunch in Johor. The bus driver stopped at a restaurant to let all of the passengers eat. From Lavender Street, we too a cab to our hotel in Chinatown, Duxton Road. The hotel? Rocks ass man!

The service was very good. Staffs were very friendly. We even got a welcome drink that quenched our thirsts from all that travelling. We checked into our rooms and then just chill out for a while. We left the hotel for dinner at about 5pm.

We walked over to Chinatown to see if there's any good food. We walked pass various food stalls but we ended up in a food court (some thing like our Selera Malam in Malaysia) opposite the Chinatown Street. There was this Hainanese Chicken rice that all of us wanted to try, but sadly, all sold out even before 6.15pm! I end up eating a 'Fook Chow' fish balls noodles that tasted ok.

After dinner we headed down to the Singapore Zoo for the Night Safari. We had trouble locating the MRT station at first, and encountered various transport confusions. The Singapore map provided by the hotel and the MRT maps really helped us a lot. We felt like we were the contestants of Amazing Race. Hehehe.

We reached the Night Safari later that we expected but all is good. We paid for admission and the tramp ride. We watched the animal show first, before we explore the Night Safari. The show was funny, with Louise, one of the staff pretending to be one of the audience. We then took the tramp ride, and then stopped at the Leopard Train to walk.



We walked through this bat cage while we were there. It gave all of us an experience to remember. The environment was dark and moist, and the ground wet from the rain. We couldn't spot any bats at first because it was so dark. But at the end of the few metres bat trail, we looked back and realised that we actually walked under one of them! Then Jin and Dave pointed out to us that there were two bats hanging on the left of us! The most frightful thing was when one of the bats flew right above us! I didn't know what was going on because it happened so fast. I only saw BC ducking, so I followed. I felt a very strong blow of air then, the power of the bat's wings.

We continued the second half of the tramp ride and then left the Night Safari feeling very content.



Day 2. Only partially recharged from Day 1, we all managed to dragged ourselves up for a half day of shopping. We ate the famous Maggie Express Noodles for breakfast. Yeah man, what a healthy breakfast. We took a cab to Orchard Road at about 9.45am. We went to Wisma Atria first, but... Singaporeans are lazy shoppers; all the shops only open until later. All we did for the first 45minutes was just really window shopping. Me and Jin managed to do a little shopping (more on that on my next post), while the macho men became our personal shopping caddies. LOL! We later had McD's for lunch. We left Wisma Atria and headed back to our hotels to rest a little before we head to Sentosa Island. I kind of fell asleep....HAHAHA.

Anyways, we took the MRT and then the cable car to Sentosa Island. I got a little scared because I have with cable car phobia. But if it's Singapore, I think it's ok I guess. The cable car moved relatively fast compared to the one in Genting, so the time spent travelling in it was short.

The first thing I did in Sentosa Island was actually taking pictures with an albino Burmese python! I wanted to touch and take pictures with a brown one back at the Night Safari show but the staff didn't allow it. But anyways, the albino rocks! The albino Burmese python is actually my favourite snake.


It's difficult to find albino animals in the wild because their 'albino ness' actually is a treat to them. Without its natural color, it is difficult for them to blend in with their environment to avoid from being preyed on

First stop was the Underworld. Eh...err... I mean the Underwater World. LOL! We went there to get our tickets which consisted of a free entrance to the Dolphin Lagoon. A dolphin show was scheduled in about 45 minutes so we took the free shuttle bus to watch the show first. We were still very early for the show so we hung out at the beach, located just beside the lagoon.







After dancing around coconut trees and picking up coconuts, we sat back and relax and enjoyed the pink dolphin show. Two otters came out for a pre-opening act too!

We then went back to the Underworld...er I mean Underwater world to see (and talk about eating) fishes. A lot of interesting (and delicious) fishes in the tanks. But, I got a little dizzy watching fishes in the rounded tunnel. While Jin, Dave and BC went for a second round on the moving floor, (a moving conveyer belt thing) I took my time to slowly walk (so I won't get dizzy and all giddy) and enjoy the view of the underside's of the fishes. LOL! What caught my eye was the shark embryo that was real, alive and kicking!

Next and last stop in Sentosa Island was the Musical Fountain. Another superb display. The laser, 3D and water display effects was good, however, there's a storyline to the whole show that I found a little less interesting.



We left Sentosa Island after the Musical Fountain display. For dinner, we paired up and split for dinner. Jin and Dave went to eat noodles while me and BC went to eat Clay pot Mutton Bak Kut Teh. DELICIOUS! It's along all the food stalls in Chinatown. Really good stuff. We went back to the hotel after dinner and meet up with Jin and Dave and then freshen up.

The night was still young, and so are we. We head down to Jalan Muhammad something... I forgot the place but it's like a Bangsar kind of place. (Actually Duxton Road is like a mini Bangsar itself, but sleazy) We drop by the entrance of Coyote Ugly (CU) just to realised that the bar top dancers danced on Saturdays only =( We then decided to head down to the Singapore renown discotechque Zouk, just to be disappointed again =( We didn't manage to get in because it was so damn packed! It's like queuing up for DJ Tiesto back in K.L's Zouk! The only thing different about this scenario was that there's no DJ Tiesto, and on a Wednesday night, not even s Saturday night! Even the Singaporeans there were complaining. Ahhh well, Wednesday = Ladies night, and the next was Deepavali, that explains the crowd. ...But...hais... too damn packed.

We left the area and headed back to the hotel =( We could have gone to Serrangoon Road to see Deepavali displays but non of us remembered. Jin only remembered when she was ready for bed.

Day 3. Sleep deprived but still managed to wake up. Nothing much happen except SHOPPING! Yep, all we all did was shopping. We checked out from the hotel early and head to Orchard road.



I did most of my shopping in The Heeren shopping complex. Was really rushing against time so I didn't manage to buy the shoe I wanted in another outlet in Far East (another shopping complex) Sobb sobb =( I ended up buying the shoe in a different color.

Lunch was good. We ate at Sakae Sushi in Heeren.



Conclusion? The trip was a blast. I really enjoyed myself, and I believe Jin, David and BC did too. I just wished we stayed there for another day. I miss (shopping) in Singapore already! I want to say thanks to Jin, David and BC too!...for making the trip so fun and memorable. So when is the next trip? *grin*
