Pineapple tart
I hinted to my mom before, that I didn't want to help out this year in making Chinese New Year cookies. But alas ... too bad for me because I don't have a choice. My mom, sis and me sat together this morning and made pineapple tarts. The final batch is in the oven now.

I tried recovering my 4.1gig Sex and The City video files. I failed miserably. So I guess I have to wait another 2 months. I don't have the mood to download it now though; I'm planning to re format all my partitions on my hard disk before the Chinese New Year. Everything seems to be moving so slow. The disk cleanup and defragmenters don't seem to be helping out much too.
I've also started cleaning up my PC room and PC. There's this really good 'dust' cloth by 3M that works magic for me. (You can get it in any supermarket, usually found in the dish washing sponge, the rubber gloves, that kind of section) The cloth is designed to pick up dust and dirt. A little pricy for a ‘rag’ but really does ‘clean up’ work very well. I used to soak my keyboard’s keys with soap and then brush the dirt off with a toothbrush. I just need the cloth now. No soaking or anything, all I have to do is use water and wipe the keys and all the dirt comes off really easily!
Enough about keyboards. I washed my heat sink too. I have been wanting to do that for a very very long time but I can't seem to unhook the plastic protector thingy. My uncle came over today and helped me with that. My PC sounds really good now. It's all dust free and quiet. And the best part is...my system is not overheating anymore! (The overheating is a problem... sometimes slight image processing and overheat my system. The thick layer of dust was the culprit)
This is going to be a long entry...I miss blogging. I miss talking. Read on if you have the time...or if you are not bored with me yet hehehe.
I have finally finished reading The Vampire Armand by Anne Rice and Terry Prechet's (is that how you spell his name?) Wee Free Men. Armand was nice. I loved his past; I loved how Anne Rice wrote about him when he was still a human. And when he became a vampire, there was this part where he had a threesome with his master and his beloved courtesan. *grin* You've got to read it, the story is beautiful.
Wee Free Men was hilarious! It's one of those books when you have a sudden burst of laughter. (It's kind of hard to control myself... I read in the LRT, so imagine all the looks that I got hehehe) I don't want to give any spoilers here... so go read the book. However, there are things that I didn't like about the book. The author kind of ended the interesting storyline with (I think) lame outcome. It's like when you want someone to die, you write, "He saw a rat and died". Then again, a lot of books and movies have endings like that. But I loved it for it's humour. It's not a very descriptive book also, not like Anne Rice's stories (where she can spend a paragraphs describing how a candle light glittered in the middle of the dinning table). A great book for people who want to start reading but have no idea what to read. Wanted to buy 'The Hat Full Of Sky' that was kind of a continuation to the Wee Free Men. The paperback version is not out yet so I guess I'll wait. No money for the hardcover book.
Apple really knows my taste. He introduced me a lot really nice stuff and I'm glad that he Wee Free Women’ed me. HAHAHA. Dinner with him yesterday was funny. We ate at this Chinese restaurant beside Secret Recipe in 1Utama. Nice place and very nice staff. Anyway, we sat down at a table that was not cleaned yet. There were dirty plates and cups on the table. We signalled the staff to clean them up but everyone seem to be confused and ignoring us. Later on I realised that the staff thought that we were asking for the bill! HAHAHA. Food was good.
Apple as usual don’t have his lighter with him, (yalah...every time go out with you 90% of the time you don't have your own light) so he asked a few waiter if they could get him one. (The restaurant had an open concept thing, people sitting outside the air conditioned area could smoke... so they would have lighters right, that's only logical) None seem to have a light so one of the waiters borrowed a lighter from another table. Nice. The funny part of the whole incident was when they wanted to close the restaurant. One of the waiters came and took away our empty dishes and Apple asked him if he had a light, and YES he did. So I said "All along we were asking the wrong person, all your other colleagues didn't seem to have a light" As he was walking back to the kitchen with the empty dishes, he came back and said "Do you have a cigarette?" and then he left. HAHAHAHAHA me and Apple burst out laughing. That waiter was a funny guy. If you didn’t catch the joke…ah then never mind.
And then... I came up with another one of my lame theories. All I have to say is...I mean...all I have to ask is "I have a nice guy with a cigarette looking for a lighter, is there a nice girl with a lighter that is looking for a cigarette?" I have your nice guy... HAHAHAHAHA ...ok lame...but what the hell.
