Second finding 101

Okays, I'm wrong, I don't think these, including the previous post are called theories; it's just something I have realised. It's should be called Teckiee's findings 101. Anyway, I had time to blog surf all my favourite blogs today, came across an entry that I laugh my brains off! Don’t mess with papi and mami man… and Yiyi too when she grows up. Hehehe.

Well, back to topic Teckiee's findings 101.

Second 'U.S company, big company, I bet the pay is good and you don't have to do a thing'. Yeah right, I used to think that way too. So what if it's a U.S based company?

When I think of some of the statements I said, I feel kind of stupid and naive. Working in/for a "big", "strong", "established", "cash and asset rich" and all well known company do no necessary guaranty you good benefits, a good pay and a good future. And about 'you don’t have to do a thing' statement, well, I only wish. For now, I think it’s all up to me, up to ourselves to make things happen.

I used to be like 'Wahh! You working there ah...not bad wei'. But now, hehhhh I don't think I can really go Wahh! anymore. I think certain companies are over rated, just like shuffling. Everyone seems to want to be in that company, but seriously, internally people working in/for certain companies know it's all just an overboard of 'name' advertising.

I don't want to name companies here la, I don't want to get sued you know, but anyways that's what I think only la, I think people should think about it too. For me, a bit to late to realised because I'm already in a ''U.S company, big company, I bet the pay is good and you don't have to do a thing' Heh...

All I can say that humans are greedy; we all want more of what we have. We all want better of what we have. I admit I'm greedy too, but after doing the math, I think I should be greedy. Then again I can't be the dog with two bones right? I'm happy with what I have, will cherish what I have. But that doesn't mean I have to stop there ma right? Yooshh! Gambatteh! We all should now limit ourselves. Our minds are much more capable that what we think of them.

I went off topic but ROARRR! I feel pumped up right now. Feeling working...OMG

big and established company = good future?

I don't really agree with this. It's true that some of the giant companies are offering good benefits to employees, like transportation allowance, meal allowance, and bla bla bla. I've heard from some of my seniors, after claiming from here and there, they got about 3k (quite a lot for a fresh grad)

But, big companies guarantee good future for employees? Hm.. it depends. But, as far as the field of IT is concerned, the bigger organization you're in, the more specialized task you get to involve in. And as a result, after a long time, you'll find that you're only familiar with certain aspect, and not the complete cycle. Sometime, only a small module of an application.

In contrast, SME can't afford to hire too many IT specialists. Thus, everyone has to "Pao Sua Pao Hai" (cover the hill and sea in Hokkien haha). Within a few months time, you get to learn a lot.
