Doing your own laundry : Part 2

Okie... here's part 2

When your load is done, hang to dry as soon as possible. The longer you leave it in the washing machine, the more wrinkles your clothes will get. Use suitable hangers for your clothes. Some plastic hanger have hooks at the side or top to hook your skirt and such up, so use them... but you should avoid using this kind of hangers for T-shirts. Sometime you will get hangers marks with these hangers when your shirt dries. It's always a good idea to purchase different types of hangers.. and in different size too. I have some mini hangers at home actually to sometimes hang more mini stuff. When my kiddy cousins sleep over, I usually use them for their clothes because the normal ones are just to huge for their cute little shirts.

Also remember to over turn your clothes so that the color will not fade as fast compared to if you don't. Pull straight the wrinkles on your clothes before hanging them too so you will get 'smoother' clothes when they are dried.

Pick suitable places to dry your clothes too. Avoid dusty\smoky places. Sunny places are nice to get your clothes to dry fast, but remember that not all clothes can be dried under the sun. Leave stretchable material in shades, the direct sun light can kill the material.

For those using the drier.. well happy ironing. Just remember that some clothes will shrink in the drier.

And when your clothes are dried, don't be a lazy bum. Fold them and keep them. Leaving them in a mountain of clothes will make them wrinkle. .....I got lazy once with curtains... I didn't hook them up immediately so I ended up ironing all the curtains! Lesson learn lo...

Okay, Doing your own laundry lesson completed by aunty teckiee. ...Maybe I should write another aunty lesson on "Washing your toilet" HAHAHAHA

When I was in college, we had a common washing machine for everyone to use. There was this floormate of ours who would actually soak his dirty pair of rubber shoes in the washing machine, overnight!

Yalar, overnight! And you know what kind of college was that? It was a seminary where we were trained to become pastors. So if you see a pastor with a specially clean pair of rubber shoes, you know that must be my ex-floormate.
