Living like water world
While I was attending a company sponsored training, my mom, dad and sis was attending something else. They attended a self sponsored holiday. I was suppose to be on my DREAM TRIP TO CAMBODIA with them but too bad =(
But, I'm looking at the bright side; I am even more determine to go for a trip there. After looking at the pictures that my family took and the stories they told me, I can plan for a better trip. I will definitely want to spend a whole day at Angkor Wat itself, and I don't think I will want to go to Phnom Penh already. And now when I go, I at least will not have my mom nagging me with "Cambodia dangerous la, not save..." bla bla bla.
When I want to go, made my plans, she complains. Later in the months when there's cheap air flights to Siem Riep, she says she wants to go there for a holiday. ISH!
There's a lot of place there didn't get to go though. Too little time spent there. A lot of things and food they didn't try too! What a waste! But my sis did get to try Balut (more famous in the Philippines. Balut is boiled duck embryo). She says it didn't taste disgusting or whatever, "ok la". So I guess it's nothing after all. But I think really high in cholesterol!
By staying home, I missed all this and many more... can't wait until it's my turn!
Some wat (wat as in temple) in Siem Riep. There are just too many wats to visit. But all are beautiful.
Pink stone wat. According to my mom, she was told that when the temple was firstly built, it was pink in color.
Very simple carvings on the temple walls. My sis took a lot of other wall carvings that are really detailed and complexed. I wonder if they built the stone temple first, then crave them, are crave the stones then built. Both way, it wasn't an easy task as even the smallest wat there takes at least 30 years to built.
Mom said that there are lakes and water cannels surrounding most of the wats.
Old hand granades from the war.
Floating church. My sis took a picture of a floating basketball court too! Being a fan of the movie "Waterworld", my mom was awed by all this floating boats. Floating houses, floating halls, everything is floating smack right in the middle of this huge lake. Echo from mom ("Really like water world one, REALLY!");
