Call me paranoid
I recently got an email from an organization (that I am registered with) asking (for the second time) me for some of my personal information.
Echo("
Dear Sir / Ms. / Mdm,
On behalf of ....[blablabla]

.. ....[blablabla]
");
Ok, my issue with this is that HELLO! I will absolutely not send my personal information through email. Why?
1# The internet is no safe place.
2# I have received updated my information before and I am still getting my
newsletter and all that stuff, so what is up with that?
3# The sender email domain wasn't even belong the organization.
If you think "nothing wrong with that also, you register with the organization what, and they need your info, send only la". You know what, don't ever do that especially if sensitive information is involved. Anyone can pose as anyone and any organization to bluff information out of you by.
1# Sending you fake emails requesting for personal information.
2# Sending you fake links and redirects you to the 'official website' to update your details. This is a scam.
If you are smarter "Yeah lo, sounds fishy especially when the email comes from another domain". Emails can be fake even if it is from the same domain. The source of the email might not be from the domain because this can be easily changed. So an email from eBay does not necessary mean it's really from eBay.
I will have to call the number they have given in the email to verify the authenticity of the email. Then again, the number they have given me could be a scam too. I will just have to call the company directly and request to speak to the sender. And if this email is real... well, I think they should be informed that not everyone is conformable giving out their information
like that.
Call me paranoid... but I'm not willing to take chances, so should you.
